Independence is also about the future we choose to build together.
Through Roots of Independence – Pottuvil, Noor Mohamed Foundation brought members of the local community together for a tree-planting initiative connected with Sri Lanka’s Independence Day.
Children, community members and local participants took part in planting mango and coconut trees — transforming a national day of reflection into practical environmental action with a lasting local purpose.
Celebrating independence by investing in the next generation and the environment they will inherit.

Sri Lanka’s Independence Day provided the occasion for this community activity.
For Noor Mohamed Foundation, the day became an opportunity to connect celebration with responsibility — encouraging the community to think about the environment and the future being created for the next generation.
Why plant trees?
